The Big Give

For many of us, our pets mean the world to us. They are our best friend, mini therapist, child, home security, workout partner, and sometimes one of the very reasons we get out of bed in the morning. Imagine then, being food insecure. Not only are you struggling to provide for yourself and your human family but, you cannot provide for that little being that gives you unconditional love and helps you make it through hard times every day. 
 
Locally, nationwide, and worldwide, we are seeing people struggle to keep their pets fed, at home, and out of shelters. We decided that we want to make a difference here at home. With your help, we are kicking off “The Big Give”, Monday, February 14th. What better way to celebrate love than to donate pet needs to help support the foster and Pet Need’s Pantry programs at Toledo’s PET Bull Project and Humane Ohio.
 
Toledo’s PET Bull Project and Humane Ohio have joined forces to better serve Lucas County residents who are in financial need through their Pet Needs Pantry, located at Toledo’s PET Bull Project on Tremainsville Rd. Starting Monday, February 14th, we will be accepting donations in our lobby at Countryside Animal Hospital, 5510 Monroe Street, Sylvania, OH 43560 to benefit the Pet Needs pantry and foster programs at the PET Bull Project and Humane Ohio. We are calling this drive, “The Big Give” and it will run from Monday, February 14th through Monday, February 28th. 
 
How can you help? Bring an item from the list below to our lobby, call Countryside at (419) 882-7688 and buy pet food or pill pockets from our stock to go in the donation box or make a cash donation in person at Countryside. Below is a compiled list of needs for both the Pet Needs pantry and their foster programs through The PET Bull Project and Humane Ohio. 
 
Pet needs to donate:
Gift cards: PetCo, PetSmart, Pet Supply Plus, Chewy, Amazon.
Dog and cat food – wet and dry
Dog and Cat treats
Pill pockets
Cat litter
Litter boxes
Distilled water
** Items that we are not accepting; anything already open, medical donations, or household goods. Thank you for your understanding.
 
We look forward to working with you, our Countryside family, to make a difference by GIVING BIG! There are people and their pets out there that think they are alone. That are worried about making one of the hardest decisions of their lives; that of giving up their pet or sharing their own meager food resources with their pet in order to keep them. You can make a difference. If many people come together making small gestures, it can amount to something BIG!
